Natalie went to the dentist this morning, and she was a wee little champ about letting the (awesome) dentist put whirring tools into her mouth. However, we've got a followup appointment for a couple of weeks from now because she has cavities! Two tiny little ones on the backs of her front teeth. Also, a chipped molar in the back, from horsing around or something.
My baby girl needs fillings. I know it's not a huge deal, but really, I didn't have my first one until I was 30 (and was kind of hoping that would work in her favor). It's a bit startling, and it makes me sad.
On the bright side, I love love love her dentist (Lina Al-Aswad in Teele Square). She's goofy and gentle and talks to Natalie like a human being. And she assures me that it'll all be fine. After the appointment today, Natalie and I went through the car wash and listened to music and sang songs and I know it'll all be okay in the end but oh god! oh, it is hard to not feel bad, sometimes.
