I never heard of BPPV, but 6 years ago I had a bunch of vertigo and needed to go to the ER just to be hydrated; moving my head enough to drink water made me vomit! They didn't mention BPPV and said it's probably a viral infection or something. They gave me some Meclizine 1 and some Phenergan2 and sent me home. The anti-vertigo meds didn't really work but the anti-nausea ones did. Being spinny and pukey was terrible. Being spinny and not-pukey meant I was well enough to stay home and played video games3 It got better after about a week and a half, but I didn't get any new superpowers. That's where the playa name that I never use came from, viz.: Vertigo.
