happy due date to meeee
happy due date to meeeeeee!
happy due date, happy due date,
happy due date to me!
And now, the waiting.
I seem to have developed a problem with spicy foods in the past week or so, which makes me a little grumpy. They were fine up until about Thursday, at which point they started giving me trouble. I ate only unspicy things today, though, and had no reflux. Hurrah!
This week was our first week getting a delivery from Boston Organics. Friday, I came home from
fennel's to find a big green box on the doorstep. Inside were apples, tomatoes, bananas, oranges, pears, an avocado, a big butternut squash, some lettuce (eh), a couple of beets (what the heck do I do with beets other than pickle them?), a head of cauliflower, a tasty grapefruit, and a loaf of 7-grain bread. Jackpot! I recently decided to sign up for their every-other-week $25 delivery box because the idea of fresh fruits and vegetables coming to my door without me having to leave the house or even MAKE ANY CHOICES AT ALL was suddenly very appealing. And, so far, so good. I'm a bit disappointed that I got a head of lettuce, though -- I thought I'd marked "no" under all of the lettuce boxes and added "please substitute with non-lettuce greens
and bananas". Maybe I did, and they're just testing me. Anyway, I think this will be an excellent experiment. I know that starting the service as we go into the winter is a little silly, as soon everything they deliver will be from faraway farms, but hey, I'm still excited.
What else? I tried to move furniture with
dilletante last night, but found that there were several things I couldn't carry. Now, this isn't because I didn't have the muscle, but rather because there's this gigantic LUMP right where I'd want to hold something against my belly to stabilize it. So, I carried some things, but mostly we called in
ectophylla for some last-minute grunting. Now, we have a desk in our bedroom. Hooray!
I guess there's not much else to say. I just wanted to say hello to the world. Hello, the world!
